A native of Savannah, Georgia, Dr. Bennett has served Baptist churches for over 30 years. He is presently in the 12th year of his second tenure at First Baptist Church, having served earlier from 1984-1988.
The pastor is married to Jeanine, a school teacher, and they have 3 grown children.
In addition, he holds a Masters of Theology from London School of Theology and a Doctorate in Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
