What We Believe
About God...
God is the original Designer, Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has always existed in three personalities: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal and are one God.
About Jesus Christ...
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. He was born into the world just like anyone else, but was at the same time, 100% God yet 100% man. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the final sacrifice for the sins of everyone by dying on the cross. After three days, he arose to show His power over sin and death. From there, He ascended to Heaven and will return again to earth some day to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
About the Holy Spirit...
The Holy Spirit is also co-equal with the Father and the Son. His presence in the world leads men and women into an awareness of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives inside of every Christian from the moment they accept Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
About the Bible...
The Bible is God's Word to us. Under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, it was written by human authors. It is the ultimate source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is God's Word, inspired by Him alone, it is completely true and accurate without any mixture of error.
About Human Beings...
God creates every human being in His image. People are God's ultimate creation. We are each born with a sickness called "sin," or an attitude of disobedience toward God. This causes many problems in life and begins separating us from Him. However, we must not forget that each person has an enormous potential for good as well.
About Salvation...
Salvation is the free gift that God offers to us but we must accept it. There is not enough good things for us to do that can make up for sin. Trusting in Jesus alone is the only offer of forgiveness that God gives us. When we do, we are saved from our sin and we begin turning from our self-ruled lives to a life of offered sacrifice to God. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith.
About Eternal Security...
Salvation is secure for all eternity because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ. If you have sincerely accepted Christ, you cannot lose your salvation! It is maintained by the grace and mercy of God, not by the Christian.
About Eternity...
God created us to exist in two places: earth and Heaven. In eternity, we will either exist separated from God by our sin, or eternally with Him through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is to exist in Hell. To be eternally in His presence is to live with Him in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are both real places of eternal existence.
